Creating Art
I see diversity in many ways, but this collage is a good representation of what the videos have taught me about diversity and an anti-bias approach to teaching.
Hi Robin, Your collage is great! I think it embodies much of how diversity should be seen and different representations of it. Diversity starts with acceptance of others and their differences. I especially love your quote, "strength lies in differences, not in similarities." If we were all the same then we would never learn from others and people's differences are some of the best resources of all! I also like how you included all the different types of families. Great post!
Robin, I love your collage. It is exhibits diversity in different ways. I absolutely love the book Who's in My Family? I was introduced to this book this school year, and I was glad to see the different family structures. I made a graph to go along with book and allowed each one of my students to place their name under the family structure that was similar to their own. Diversity is something we all need to embrace.
Love the collage Robin. You put a lot of thought into it and it shows diversity from all angles. This would be a great collage for your children and families to view on the first day of school to explain diversity and how we are going to be accepting of all from race to trauma, all of us will be friends.
